IBM thinkpad t30 no screen

#1 Post by augieq66 » Wed Apr 19, 2006 3:23 am

I would like for anyone to help me with my problem.I recently dropped my t30 and now I don't have any visual onscreen, but when I attached an external monitor to it it works fine even when I toggle between the two screens. All I'm getting on the t30 is just a bright screen on the LCD.I'm hoping someone has a LCD for sale that is compatible with mine(hitachi tx36d37v1cacaa?). :(

If it is bright, then chances are the CCFL (backlight) in the LCD is fine. Hopefully so is the MCD.

You might want to open it up and make sure that the cables are properly seated.

Here is the Hardware Maintenance Manualto show you how to open up the T30.

I did disassemble the LCD screen and both the power cable and the ribbon were fine. Also the link you provided is no good, it's broken.

I double checked the link and it worked for me. I will provide you with the main link to the Hardware Maintenance Manuals, so that you can just select the T30 HMM.
