What type of 3Com ethernet adapter in T21

#1 Post by iann070 » Wed Apr 19, 2006 3:43 pm

I have a T21 running XP and have installed Ghost 2003.
I want to make backups over a network using TCP/IP but when Ghost gets to the screen that has the ethernet adapter listed, it is blank and I have to select an adapter from a dropdown list, however there are about a dozen 3Com adapters in the list so I'm not sure which one I need to select.
Anyone got any experience with a T21 and Ghost 2003.

Thanks for the links, you have helped me confirm that it uses a 3Com 3C556 chipset.
I downloaded the DOS drivers and it does mention 3C556 in the "Protocol.ini" file and it also has the file "EL556.DOS" (which Ghost 2003 also has in it's pull down list of drivers, so I guess that's the one to use).
It's just a bit wierd how Ghost 2003 didn't automatically detect the chipset and pick the correct driver like it does on my desktop PC (which also has a 3Com network card installed).

Cheers
