LCD from a R32 in a T23?

#1 Post by joad » Wed Apr 26, 2006 12:49 pm

Hi, I have a broken R32 with a working LCD, but in my T23 the LCD is broken.

Is it possible to swap the lcd from the R32 to the T23?

The connector fits fine but how about the “Inverter Card” is it the same on all LCDs or is there different voltage?

Thanks

you can get the hardware maintenance manual for both and check the part numbers, well, both P/N and FRU#...

that should give you a hint..

though some numbers would change if the part was supplied by a different manufacturer..

Ok,
R32 LCD FRU# 11P8283
T23 LCD FRU# 05K9888

I can’t find any FRU # on the 14” LCD that’s the same on both Thinkpads

The connector fits fine but how about the “Inverter Card” is it the same on all LCDs or is there different voltage/function?

You could try to measure the voltages coming out of the inverter in both. Just be careful if you do it can get dangerous. I guess the worst thing that i can think that might happen is that either hte inverter or backlight might blow up. lol.
