My new t22 will arrive with its hd wiped clean. Will I have to
install that special service partition, or can i just fdisk, prepare
and format the hd for win98 installation like a desktop
machine? I ask this because my old compaq required a special
small partion for its setup program and bios and now I am curious
if my new t22 will require that service partion, since i do not
have the original system recovery cds that came with it.
any help would be appreciated.
My "new" t22 is arriving! Please answer this simpl

You're ok.. Just install your OS. The laptop doesn't require a special partion. You might have to install some drivers from the IBM web site at most. I've done this a hundred times.....
Good luck,
Ron
