Does the T20/30 series battery fit other Thinkpads eg. T40?

This is a bad question as I left my work T40 in my office!

But does these old batteries fit the new T40 series? Or even T60?

No, they don't fit. The T2x and T3x batteries are short and wide and go on the bottom of the laptop while the T4x batteries are long and narrow and go on the back.
