Driver for Actiontec OEM 802.11b Internal Wireless Mini-PCI
Im trying to upgrade to internal wireless on my T23 (2647-HU8). I've installed the card and it's recognized, but has the exclamation mark in the hardware profiles in windows. i've tried ibm/lenovo, and thier driver isnt recognized, and ive tried several driver sites as well. Does anyone have the driver for this? I mean the REAL driver? lol have I done the install process incorrectly? Should the driver be installed first? Please help me out. thanks
ps-Actiontec.com is definately no help, I tried them first. Thanks

Actiontec Driver
We have the Actiontec 802.11b MPCI card in my wife's A30 and I want to say that XP loaded it right up. What OS are you running on your machine? I'll be happy to take a look at my stash of drivers and send it to you if I have it on disk. I'll check when I get home.

Ok I found the driver "high rate" wireless @ IBM, and I loaded it like IBm said to. It now recognizes the card, and I have the icon in my taskbar, however, the radio wont stay on. Why is this? i have ordered some antennae to put in the laptop, could this be the problem? It just wont show a signal, when the radio is on, it shows 2 yellow bars. thanks:)

That'd definitely be a problem, if your T23 doesn't have the internal antenna already. You can tell the models that have it very quickly by the LCD cover (if original), in that the ones with antennas have an area near the top (when open) of each side that's a different texture (translucent w/striations) than the rest of the lid. Plus you should have 2 antenna leads laying in the MiniPCI bay. If you don't have that, an internal card will have great difficulty locking on to a signal unless the AP is righ next to it.
Your alternatives are to install internal antenna wires either under the keyboard or in the LCD lid; which is a huge hassle, or simply to use one of the many PC Card wireless cards out there.
