Just a note to anyone who goes here for TP's; they have a lot of them and some may be very fairly priced. It's their mode of operation that can be an annoyance, if not somewhat questionable.
In many cases, though, they won't or can't tell you the model number. For my money, I like knowing what version of the TP I'm buying. I don't know much about this e-tailer, but they sound like an attempt to be an auctioneer, like Ebay, except that the source of their inventory are large companies with a lot of stock to clear. They probably make a deal with sadi large companies to sell items as a perceived auction [I say perceived because the open bid price is usually only $20 less than the 'Buy it now' price; what's the incentive to bid? If it's what it appears to be, most people will just buy it.], but then just sell outright, as any other e-tailer on line, with the exception being that they won't provide model numbers on any units, unless you ask, and for many of them, they say they can't tell. This is reported by them, as being due to the uncertainty of the exact model ultimately being sent to the buyer.
Again, I ask my self, why I would be willing to make such a 'blind' purchase.
In the end, any on-line purchase can go sour, but at least if you know the item you're buying, you have some certainty as to what it is, vs. receiving it and finding out its not EXACTLY what you wanted.

I have never tried to purchase a Thinkpad from them, but I have purchased several computers from them, before the prices went through the roof.
About 3-4 years ago, I purchased 3 difference PCs (w/out monitors) there, that were top of the line at the time. Each of them was less that $250 shipped, including taxes, because I was in IL at the time, which is where they are based.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that this was back when bidding started at $1.
