"radio powered on, but not associated"-what does t

I just installed an OEM thinkpad t23 wlan mini pci card and this is the message I get when I open up the connection status utility. how do I "associate" so i can use my device? thanks

check that the security settings of the wlan are properly configured in access connections or windows utlility (depends what you use).

i get that message only when new settings of the wlan security (wep, wpa, wpa-psk) from router are dont match the ones from ac or wu

ps: and be sure the router allows your mac address
