Configurarion problems T20 LAN and modem

#1 Post by blusteve » Wed Jun 21, 2006 3:03 pm

Hi there,
I have a problem with my ThinkPad T20 2647-81G
PIII 700MHz, 256MB RAM, 60GB, 6X-2.3X DVD, 56K modem, LAN, Win2KPro, bios version IYET61WW (1.22 ).
I bought it without HD, because broken and without software or cd.
I installed W2K SP4. At the end of the installation, I got a question mark in the SYSTEM page. The only think isn't working is the LAN. The modems' driver is present but it make a slow connections (25 max 35 kb!) My telephone line is working well because with another pc I don't have that problem with the modem.
I try to download almost everythink from IBM website looking for modem and LAN new drivers, but I still have the same problems I told you.
I try also to install XP Pro SP2, but again SAME problems as W2K.
The IBM website talk about "COMBO" : LAN and modem together but I dont know if I have COMBO or what else.
In any case, tryed also COMBO drivers, but my pc, as always say " No driver for the unknow peripherial" for the LAN and modem.
Is there anybody could give me a copy of the IBM original installation CD or could help me to find the drivers or any other help?

Thanks a lot.
desperate Stefano

Download and run the Software Installer. It should pick the right driver for your combo card and other components as well.

Thanks for the prompt: I installed everythink SOFTWARE INSTALLER told me, but nothing changed. My LAN has the question mark and I'm connected at 30 Bit / sec... Any other suggestion?
thanks
