Atheros card 5004 drivers for t30

I think I need the right driver for the Atheros card in my t30. That may be the reason for a lack of signal strength from my card? I dont know what else it could be for poor signal strength. That card should be getting alot better distance and right now its barely getting a bar roughly 35 to 40' away from the router.

I have access connections installed and it shows the signal strength as 100 about 5 or so feet away from the router, but go down the hall and it drops down to about 60 and than back up to about 78 or 80. I dont think it should be losing this much signal moving it 20 more feet away from the router while keeping it in the same house and on the same floor. Also, in AC i click find WLAN and it goes to the lil graph deal but it never finds any networks? Not even the one its connected to. Any help or direction with where to go from here to find out why the sig strength isnt very good would be appreciated. Thanks again.
