Dead pixels and hard disk noisy

#1 Post by Pandolphe » Mon Jul 10, 2006 3:24 am

Hi folks,

I've got a T22.
Inside was an IBM Hard disk (travelstar) witch was making a big noise.

I just change it to an Hitachi one (same speed rotation, same size) and now the computer is very quiet.

On the new laptops (especially the T60 witch I could buy...), is the hardisk very noisy ?
I don't like to ear my computer like a plane engine ;-)

Now, i would like to know if T2x owners got problems with their LCD screen.
Cause on my screen, I have 11-12 pixels witch seems dead.

It is possible to see dust coming into the screen ?
Cause more than dead pixels, I think it's dust.

Thanks;
Benji
(as you guessed it, i'm french. sorry for the language's mistakes)

Hitachi drives normally are quiet enough. If you're really going for quiet drives, I would recommend Western Digital. Its very very quiet......which I've compared with Hitachi in a quiet room.
