Critical system error - HELP!!

Hey guys, fairly new to the site and I need some help. Just got a T22 (900 MHz, 256 RAM, 20 GB hard drive) and I am getting some error messages I'm not familiar with. The message always says the same thing, 'Critical System Error' and then gives me a website to download, which changes with every error message (Ex. regfixit.com, correctreg.com, regdocpro.com). It instructs me to download, run the program and reboot. What do you think it could be? The guy who sold me the T22 said that I should re-install Windows XP Pro

A Google search indicates it's spyware, a virus or messenger related. See these for similar situations and suggested solutions:
