T22 svideo PAL out, B & W only ???

Hi all, I connected my thinkpad to my PAL TV here in Italy. The tv only has a SCART connection, so I used a small adapter that gave me a svideo connection and was able to connect the thinkpads svideo connection to the tv using a 4 prong svideo cable.

I checked everything, but was still only to obtain a b&w image on the tv. I read that using this setup, I loose some signal info like luminance, and that is the reason I get only b & w.

Now, how bout if I buy one of those little svideo to rca video
adapters and run the svideo signal from the thinkpad, as before, but connect it to the rca video input (adapter) on the tv input? (remember the tv has an adapter on the SCART input that gives me rca video input as well as a svideo input.

Will i get color this way?

Oh yeah, I did check the thinkpad and made sure that it was set for PAL and not NTSC.

this problem does not relate to the thinkpad, but to the television set you are using. it can however be bypassed by means of an adapter that you can either build yourself (tons of guides online) or buy one of these:
