Flickering LCD & Noising Speakers in T21

#1 Post by gbeeri » Fri Aug 04, 2006 12:47 pm

I own a T21-2647 with XP (recently formatted and installed) and I have two problems with it:
1. After I return from Stand By Mode, the picture in the screen flickers like it's not
the correct refresh rate, even though it is. It becomes fine again if I restart the comupter.
2. Sometimes my speakers make this horrible noise like when you hear if you put
a microphone close to a speaker that are connected to the same computer. I don't have any mic, though.

I'd appreciate any help with these problems.

Sorry, but I can't help you with the first problem. The noise you describe sounds like "feedback". This is possible because the T21 has a built-in microphone near the four arrow keys. If your install of Windows has enabled the microphone and you have the speakers turned on, it is possible to be getting this noise. Open up Window's Volume control panel by double-clicking the speaker icon in the system tray and check the "mute" box under the microphone slider. If it is not checked, that's probably your problem. Click the mute box and your feedback should go away.
