t22 problem

#1 Post by shabba ranks » Tue Aug 22, 2006 8:28 am

when I power up my t22 it reaches the Microsoft windows 2000 screen and then the screen goes blank. However the system continues to load and windows load up music sounds soon after the screen goes blank. It is possible to start it up in vga and safe modes. What could be wrong with it? Could it be a grafix card problem. ANy help will be much apreciated! cheers!

Video driver problem.

Uninstall whatever one you're using and install the latest release.

The OS/2 driver will not work in your Windows environment....

Try this one instead Read the README for instructions.

To play DVDs, you need a DVD player, like PowerDVD or WinDVD (in addition to the correct video driver, of course).

IBM TP T41p (1.7G/1GB/100GB-7k100/DVD-CDRW/SXGA+/BT)
IBM TP T22 (900/512/40/DVD/CDRW/14")
IBM TP A31 (1.8GHz/512MB/40GB/DVD-CDRW/15" SXGA)

Hi, I also have a used T22 with a CD/DVD in the Ultrabay. When I first tried to play a DVD, I got an error message and after further investigation found I have no DVD software. I have Windows Media Player on my computer, I am sure you do also. I found a download of WinDVD software that adds itself to your Windows Media Player for just $14.95 it was very easy. Here is the link:

My DVD's plays fine now. Good luck

T22 Windows 2000 screen technically is not blank but is very, very dim and the keyboard controls do not brighten it at all.
I am running with attached (external) FP-1801 Dell monitor.
Looking for the (link to) driver named
S3 Graphics Savage IX 1014 (or whatever latest)
