new (used) T23

#1 Post by jcnj6 » Fri Aug 25, 2006 8:10 pm

I just purchased a T23 on ebay (it's my 3rd T23). It came without an operating system. I am installing a copy of Winodws XP that I own. I am wondering what other IBM / T23 specific utilities or drivers that will make it run optimally. I have searched the IBM support site, but it leaves me unsure of a standard intall.

Thanks for any info you can provide

Rich, go back to IBM's website, and look for the audio drivers for the T23.

I've gotten all my T23s to use those buttons, and I have just used the automatic installer. (But, I'm running 2000.)

The Hotkey driver should fix your problem.

hot keys not working

#7 Post by jcnj6 » Tue Nov 14, 2006 6:17 pm

The volume keys are still not working. Is there a program to test them, like basic had peeks and pokes.
Could there be a wire loose that I should look at?

Thanks

Open up Task Manager and check to see if there's a program called
TPHKMGR.exe
running or not.

Yep its running

Thanks for your help

Yep, the program is running, but the buttons do not work

The biggest problem with these buttons not working is that the system sound level is set at low
There are so many other controls for the sound level, if I could just get the system sound level up to full, I could use the sound.
As it is, I can not play a DVD because the sound is almost inaudible.

Do any of my friends out there have any other ideas?

Thanks so much

OK, here's another idea.
Double-click on the speaker on System Tray, you'll have a window with bunch of sliders. Crank Wave all the way up. See if it helps...
