Charging a T21 in the Car

#1 Post by abrogard » Sat Sep 09, 2006 4:19 pm

Do I need to buy some proprietory charger or a plug or something to take my T21 on a 2000km car trip with me?

Or do I just get one of those 12volt to power supply voltage (240 here in aus. 120 there in usa) car transformer things and plug the standard charger into that?

Or am I better off relying on charging up in the motel each night?

The notebook isn't going to get much work - it is mainly there for downloading from the digital camera.

regards,

ab :)

I use a 120-volt converter that plugs into the car's cigarette lighter. I plug the computer (and phone and whatever) into the converter. However, based on your post, charging it in the motel overnight sounds sufficient to me. ... JD Hurst

IBM supplied an AC/DC charger (part numbers 22p9003 and 22p9201) designed for use with 110/220VAC or 12VDC. You can search eBay for these items. (Melbourne to Brisbane, perhaps?)

Yes. That's a standard voltage inverter and it can possibly be used with other AC equipment (read the power specs to make sure).

Thanks for the replies, guys. I'll look for the IBM item on eBay but I'll probably finish up with a generic voltage converter - our market place isn't quite as big as usa and it's not always that easy to find things on eBay...

no... not Melbourne to Bris... try Katherine to Adelaide...
