T23 MB Swap, change UUID and System Serial Number

I have several T23 laptops with bad system boards and want to swap system board from other T23's in them. Is there a simple way to change the System Serial Number and UUID in BIOS setting to match the case? HP/Cpq has a utility to do this on thier systems and was wondering if IBM does this differently?

You need the Thinkpad Maintenance Diskette. I believe that version 1.69 works on the T23. I've never done this myself, but I think that there is some specific procedure to perform the changes, so I urge you to do a search on this forum about that.

By the way, version 1.69 should be available in the Internet. I remember seeing it posted in a German Thinkpad website.

Thanks for the info, unfortunately I am unable to find a good link to the file utility mentioned (Thinkpad Maintenance Diskette 1.69). Did a Google search and found some hits, but all are dead. Does anyone have a copy of this util they could e-mail to me?

Fortunately i dld hmd160 + 169 in earlier days ,
also couldn`t find [maint169.exe] or previous versions 162, 160 + 150 now.
(though i`m shure it must exist somewhere, out there:)
