Does anyone know if it is necessary to remove the backup battery. I do not like leaving my T23 completely without power if I do not have too.
Bruised, I moved this here, somehow it got into the marketplace

I've been ripping apart some T2x systems recently and in doing so I have to remove the backup battery (motherboard swaps and testing). Unless you have a BIOS password set (and didn't know it), I don't see any problem that you might have in pulling the battery.BruisedQuasar wrote:I know too well the big headache that can result from leaving any PC totally without power.
Also, a CPU upgrade seems to require removing the battery, otherwise something seems to screw up the graphics. (At least this was the case when I upgraded my T20 from 700mhz to 850mhz.)rkawakami wrote:Removing the backup (CMOS) battery on a T23 is not necessary if all you are going do to is replace the keyboard. However, if you are talking about the keyboard bezel, then the answer is "sort of". In order to remove the bezel you need to remove the screw holding the battery in place. You do not need to unplug the battery.
