Driver for Battery?

#1 Post by john_ » Fri Oct 13, 2006 2:57 pm

Hi, I recently got hold of a T23. I have upgraded the OS from Windows 2000 to XP. Everything went okay, except....
When I boot up I get the following message; "Windows could not load the installer for Battery. Contact you hardware vendor for assistance".
I then get the "Found New Hardware" bubble appearing from the tray. Windows is unable to find a driver itself for the battery and I've been unable to find one on IBM.com, or anywhere else.
The battery, which had been working fine, is now useless as the machine dies as soon as the power lead is removed.
I wondered if anyone else has had a similar problem or has any suggestions?

Thanks.

In case anyone is interested...
I reinstalled XP and now it is no longer complaining about the battery. However, despite the fact XP says that the battery is charging, it isn't. It is sitting at 0% and never rises. It was at 6% but I left it on to see if it really would die after 12 minutes as it said it would, and it did.
This battery was working perfectly 2 days ago!

Has anyone got any ideas of something I could try?

Thanks.
