Can I directly swap T22 SXGA LCD with T23 XGA LCD?

#1 Post by Nolonemo » Tue Oct 24, 2006 6:19 pm

If I have a T22 with an SXGA LCD and a T23 with a XGA LCD, can I just swap the lids between the two machines? Or do I need to get new LCD cabling or other parts for each one?

Thanks,

Nolo

If you have the WHOLE lid, the LCD cabling should already be attached and the SXGA+ panel can be plugged into the T23 motherboard. I'm assuming that the T22 will be able to accept the lower resolution XGA panel without any problems, but my only T22 has the "blink of death" syndrome so I haven't been any to play with it. I did swap XGA and SXGA+ panels around on a T23 recently so I can attest to that fact.

(edit: Just remembered... these were two T23 panels, not T22 and T23, so maybe I spoke too soon...)

(edit2: Checked the HMM and according to the LCD panel FRUs the T22 and T23 use the same cable assembly, so you should be fine with this swap.)
