T23/T23/T20 Part Swap Plan..(IMAGE)

I've drawn this up mostly because I'm bored to death at work.
Going to give this a whirl once the new T23 arrives..



I just wanted to see if this is plausible, notably the swap of LCD's from T23 to T20. In my mind, the entire housing will go with the LCD and the LCD cable as well. The only thing I'm not sure of is whether the LCD cable fits both the T20 motherboard and the T23?

About the swaps, I don't know. Did you check the HMM? Surprisingly, some parts are not interchangeable between different models of the same line (T23 to T23, for example). But you might do OK. You can always open them up, check the part numbers, and verify compatibility. In any case, that sounds like a fun project.

Maybe we could help each other here. I just put a 14.1 T23 LCD on my T20, and the cable assembly and hinges are identical. The cable fits perfectly in the T20 mobo, but I am only getting a backlight. I cant see any "ghost" image. My external monitor works, and I changed the Inverter with no success.

I dont know if the cable is incompatible, but it fits.

Yea, that's what you'd think! I've got two 15 page papers to write, yet I find myself on the forum..

What's a HMM? I'll take that out once I've got them opened and sprawled out on the table. Happy to hear that the T20/T23 LCD swap worked, minus the backlight. I'll let you know how my deal works out, but this is contingent upon 1) the arrival of the new T23, 2) condition of the new T23, and 3) Finding a big chunk of time to do it right.

My boss would be totally proud..Wish me luck! (Except you Mike, you've already been counted!)

11/8 Edit: No need to bump this post, but I ended up keeping the motherboards in their original machines, but switching the LCD's between the T23's. No manual, no labeled screws...no extra screws after assembly!
