Atheros + "error 10"

Dear ThinkPad friends!

I am having problems getting
Atheros card (AR5BMB-44) [Ambit Microsystems)
IBM FRU P/N 08K6067, alternatively 73P4302
to work in my ThinkPad T30 2366-88G due to "error 10".

Write to EEPROM worked fine using the Linux live CD to remove the 1802 and 01C9 POST errors

The card driver is version 4.1.102.133 2005-12-21

Unit instance
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_1014&SUBSYS_057E1014&REV_01\4&139E449D&0&10F0


I realize that cards with pci id 1014 are not started in
the t30, but have not managed (lack the knowledge and skills) to use the program idchanger.c to modify the pci id, for example to: PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0012&SUBSYS_2022168C.

I would be most grateful for any assistance in this matter.

hello! find the original IDCHANGER site. on it, there is a walkthrough on how to compile and use the idchanger software. i recommend you use ubuntu (www.ubuntu.com) as a host for the idchanger software. ubuntu can be run entirely from cd, without installation to your hard drive. you can contain the idchanger program on a usb stick, since your hard drive might not be easily accessible under ubuntu.

I installed and uppdated Suse Linux 10 including gcc on a separate hard disk and attempted to compile idchanger.c

please edit your posts so they are not as long and only contain necessary information. i'm sorry i won't be able to help you with compiling, since i am not a programmer myself either. try the ubunutu live cd since i've been successful compiling in that environment.

After having sent my last message, I was successful in compiling the idchanger.c - file

lspci -nv gave me several "Memory at" options (listed below). However only d0200000 gave somewhat reasonable output:

does your linux use the madwifi drivers? madwifi is necessary.
