T20 and 800 meg cpu will it work?

I just tried a 1 gig and I could not get it to boot up. It was a Pentium III Processor 1Ghz SL53S micro pga2 . OK so now I am going to try an 800 I have a 700 so it wont make that much difference I know . Just dont like to feel beat when it comes to upgrading my pc stuff. :cry:

As far as I know, T20-22 have 100 MHz system buses. My hunch is a processor from any one of them should fit another one of them.

Yes it will work. It should run the 900 also.

I just got done testing some t20 and t22 motherboards in the shop, and I used an 800 in all of them.

No sweat Jimbo it worked fine. I didnt remove the bios battery either. I wonder why I couldnt run the 1gig ?? I did get the upgraded fan from a t21 or t22 I forget which but it is new. Are you sure I could go to a 900 meg?? I have type 2647-8AU s/n 78-XZX16

could it be the 133fsb version instead of the 100fsb version the T20 needs?

no the 1 gig was a sl5ch 100 meg bus but its a 478 pin not a micro pga2 so maybe thats it?
