Problems with BIOS update

Need help with NON Diskette bios update...

Have just fixed a T21 with a new harddisk, installed XP.

Tried to ugrade the BIOS from 1.08 to 1.16, stops with the message:
"The diskette in the default drive will not run on this system."
"Your system is now locked....."

Any idea's?
Is it because I used NTFS partition?

I remember that same problem too, but it is strange that the current BIOS vers. for your T21 is 1.16, the current vers. for my T22 is 1.12 which I upgraded the NON-diskette way and had no problems. Good luck

Thanks for the link, very usefull. The BIOS is updated now with version 1.22 for a T20 machine.

The system board lists 164784U in bios setup screen, which is a T20 according Lenovo web site.
On the back the label says: Type 2647-8AG, which is a T21 according the Lenovo website.

The MAC address on the label matches the MAC address in the Bios setup screen.

I do not know now what model this notebook is, T20 or T21?
But it does not matter, it works fine.

Are there any combo mini-pci cards with LAN + Wireless LAN for this machine? I do not need the modem option, and do not like the PCMCIA cards.
