What to do with a pile of Ultrabay devices?

#1 Post by jayeye » Sat Dec 02, 2006 5:44 pm

I have ended up with half a dozen CDRW devices, a floppy, and four ultrabay batteries for my ancient T21 (as colleagues moved to newer models when their T2*s died, they kept giving me their peripherals).

The batteries are almost certainly a loss -- they are between three and six years old, and don't hold much charge any more. What of the other 12.7mm devices? They are not even worth the hassle of selling them on ebay, but I hate to just throw them out. Any suggestions (other than create "art" with them)? Nobody I know wants them!

Thanks

I am *not* selling these.

Some moderator moved this posting to the marketplace without asking me and without leaving me a note. I am *not* selling these, it's not worth the trouble.

I moved it, and I don't ask for permission to move threads that are posted in the wrong forum.

The marketplace isn't just for buying and selling - people also list things here that they just want to get rid of with the least amount of trouble. You asked what to do with them and said you hated to just throw them out. Someone else may want/need them.

Not selling them? There are alot of people here, including myself that are more than willing to buy the entire batch from you to help me finish setting up a few T2x series thinkpads.

If interested, let me know.

Whatever you do, please do not throw them away....I hate to see useful things like these thrown away.

I was wondering if the T2x series CD-ROM Ultrabays are 2000, and are interchangeable to use in the A2x series.

I'd like to get a functional CDROM for a Thinkpad A22e. Shipped to Mexico.

OK, the OP says he doesn't want to either sell or give the devices away - he just wants to know how he can use them.

Tile the bathroom floor with them and call it Apathy Decor.

Seriously, with the amount of generosity here, I'm surprised you refuse to expend a little effort to make someone else's day.

Happy Holidays.

Yeah, I'd love to have one of the combo drives, for example.

That's stupid... why post with a message like "What do I do with all these drives" and then decide you're not selling them? It's like dangling candy in front of a little kid, and asking how many ways you can smash it.

Just my opinion...

johnsag49, everyone is thinking the same thing.

I don't understand. Oh well, people have to play the role sometimes.

If you guys really want them, why not PM the original poster and ask him?
