T23: Can I use PCxxxx SODIMM RAM?

#1 Post by schleptop » Wed Dec 06, 2006 5:07 am

AFAIK, the T23 memory spec is PC133 SODIMM RAM, but I don't know whether this is the ONLY RAM I can use or if it's some sort of "minimum" spec. Can I, for example, use PC2700 SODIMM RAM? And if so, is there something else I should look out for, like CL=2 or 3?

T23's can only use PC133 SDRAM. Not PC2100,PC2700 etc. They might be able to use PC100 ram, but at the slower speed.

Thanks - always nice to get a quick reply, even if it's not what I wanted to hear!

PC133 and PCxxxx don't even have the same number of pins, so you can't even plug one in.

Right, any and all DDR (i.e., 200MHz and faster) memory will not by any means (other than possibly by way of a hammer) go into a slot made for non-DDR (133MHz and slower) memory. That goes for desktops, too.
