T20 Wont Boot: PCI Resource Conflict

#1 Post by t20user » Wed Dec 06, 2006 12:00 pm

I gave my T20 to my brother and he says it wont boot. He gets the following error on bootup...

ERROR
Resource Conflict - PCI Network Controller
Bus : Device : 03, Function : 00
ERROR
Resource Conflict - PCI
Bus : 00, Device : 03, Function :01

Since I cant test it myself, has anyone seent hese errors before? What should he try?
Thanks

Take the mini-pci card out (it's accessible from the bottom). You didn't mention what OS he's using or where the error occurred (BIOS, blue-screen, or Windows pop-up).

I believe he said it happens after powering on, so at BIOS. I did ask him to remove and replace the PCI card, I'm not sure he did yet.

It sounds to me more like the CMOS needs to be reset and (possibly) the CMOS battery needs to be replaced. I had something similar happen on mine after disconnecting the CMOS battery during a CPU upgrade.
