I have a t23 which I just had to set back up (hard disk went nuts). Anyway, I have noticed that the display does not use the entire screen (I think the screen itself is just fine). If, for instance, I use a screen size of 640x480 it fills most of the screen, 800x700 fills less, 1024x768 about 2/3 of the screen (smaller the size the more of the screen gets filled). It did not behave this way before I reformatted the drive and set it back up.
This seems very strange to me. I have read most of the display messages but nothing seems to address this kind of a problem.
Anybody have any thoughts? Oh - its quite possible that I have set it up wrong. I am using w2000 and do not have a setup disk so I went out to the net and simply downloaded everything in sight and then installed what I could and all the installations seemed to work.
Thank you...............

It is possible you are using the wrong display driver. Here is the one for the T23: Video driver (SuperSavage/IXC16) for Windows 2000/XP - ThinkPad T23
Here is where you get all of the drivers and software for your T23: Software and Device Drivers - ThinkPad T22, T23

solved
I found that if I press fn-f4 I get a little display menu. To solve the problem is simply set the system back to the lcd default and all started working correctly.
The driver thing is interesting. What I did was to goto the lenovo site and simply start downloading everything in sight for the t23 and then installed them. Some told me that it was unnecessary and some told me that I should not do that and I did not. It all seems to be working.
An interesting aside is that when most installed they simply installed into ..\drivers\ Then I found a software installer that installed all that I had installed for real. Seems a little redundant but worked. the only one that I am currently having problems with is the intel pro/100 (tells me it will not download although windows automatically downloaded, and installed, this one) and the thinkpad video features (ssixc16) for w2000 (it tries but never quite makes it and I give up and stop it (which, in turn, gets me the not responding message (which I have always understood to mean its failed)))
Anyway - thank you for the responses, I do appreciate the help.
