Model Name - Series Type

#1 Post by Sorrells » Fri Dec 22, 2006 10:39 am

Hello,

I've got a client's Thinkpad, first one I have received in this small business of mine. It is model 2647-4AU. I've poked around these forums a bit and some search engines and get the feel that this laptop is of the "T21" series. But I am not sure.

Naturally I want to post in the correct forum.

There is no notation on the computer as to series, just the model and S/N.

Have I got this right?
Regards, Sorrells

It is a T21. I have the 2647-4BU, which is very similar.

Here are the specs on the 4AU that you have:

GomJabbar,

Right you are, I assumed there was a T21 Forum. But I was wrong!

So... Where should I go?

Seasons Greetings to one and all!

I know not what all goes on here, being just a lowly newcomer. It looked to me like Bill moved the thread to the T2 forum. Before I gained this insight, I poked around the forum names and did not find a T1.

So ...., those of you with the power, please move this thread whereever it should belong!

If I were in the right spot, my first question would be about the PCI IRQs which seem to be all 11. I thought such a thing would cause a conflict and this laptop comes up in XP with a blank screen. But it is ok in Safe Mode.

Actually, I've moved past that a bit although I'd appreciate an understanding of this.

I went into BIOS to see if I could change the IRQ, but did little damage. About the 3 time in, I took the default values. Behold XP came up in glory for all to see!

Now I wonder what changed that I missed. I did record some setting prior but not all. I suspect that a Power Setting was set to short of a time and it was moving into rehab or something.

Anyway, this is the type of discourse I am looking for.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas!
Regards, Sorrells
