T-23 Hard Drive Compartment

I have an IBM T-23 that seems to have problems with Hard drives while they are in the bay. If I move the laptop the drive will disconnect and cause a blue screen. Also, I need to remove the compartment cover and connect the dcrive directly in so that I can insure that the drive is seated properly. Is this a common problem ?

I'm in the process of seeing if the HD cover is somehow misaligning the HD in the bay on my previously BSOD plagued T23. I'll post back if I find it to be the culprit.
