older thinkpad restore disks

#1 Post by helmet4000 » Mon Jan 08, 2007 5:15 am

I found this company to provide factory restore disks up to T23 (ibm still sells t30).

www.RestoreDisks.com

I ordered one for my T21 Win2k, $45.99...will see how it turns out.

Anyone else ever try their disks?

Hmm... they only seem to have Win98 and Win2K (no XP) disks for the T23, yet with the T20 you can have any of those three.

i wonder if they would answer why xp is not available? doesn't make much sense to have it for earlier but not later models

Interesting, The T20 lists all three the T21 and T22 are Windows 98 only, and the T23 is Windows 98 and 2000. Looks to be a small company copying disks that doesn't have a complete library for the models.

Several of the other (Desktop?) models only state "Windows"! I would certainly trust the experts on this board before buying from this site.
T43 1.8 / 2GB / 60GB 7K100 X31 1.4GHz / 2GB / 60GB 7K100

It looks like a waste of money unless you really want the recovery area. I could burn you a copy of OEM Win2k.

ihave an oem copy of win2k...i just want the special factory config...hopefully the disk i already potentially wasted my $ on will actually prove not to be a waste of $ afterall...will report back when i test it out (ibm no longer carries restore disks for win2k or earlier)
