Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs on a ThinkPad

#1 Post by cinemafia » Fri Jan 12, 2007 1:28 pm

Yeah, that's a mouthful alright. Anyway, even though I'm happy with the tweaked install of XP on my T20, I'm going to go ahead and try out WFLP on it just to see if it squeezes any extra speed out of the beastie. It might be moot, especially since I finally maxed it out at 512MB of RAM, but hey why not. I'm backing up my current drive to an image so i can always go back if I need to.

Anybody else on here tried WFLP on their 'Pad yet?

Not yet; then again, I haven't given much though to putting WF on any of my systems and certainly not on my older Thinkpads.

Although keep us updated when you do. :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

flp is designed primarily for a terminal server environment

you will find that many standard apps will not work or even install

you probably be best off using one of those 200Mb iso hacked XP copies which has most flab removed
