T23 will not post, searched but no luck

Hello,

Let me explain what happened before I got my problem. Windows XP froze up and I held onto the power button to shut it down.

When I tried turning it back on, the fan just runs and nothing happens, not even POST. I removed the battery and tried powering up with just the power adapter, the fan just spins and hums and that's it.

I took apart the thinkpad and followed the instructions here:
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... t=inductor

But that inductor was not loose at all, I even tried to pull it out with my fingers. No loose connection there. I can try to resolder I suppose later this morning.

I'm hoping I'm close to fixing this. I tried to find other solutions, but I didn't find anything relevant.

Sounds similar to what happened to my T23... check out this thread http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=36170

Check all of the fuses on the board. They have Fx labels near them where x is a number. My problem is F2 is open when it should be close to zero ohms when measured with an ohm meter.
