Low clock T30

#1 Post by feroci » Tue Jan 23, 2007 5:20 am

I’m Omar from Italy. Sorry for my English
My Notebook is T30 (edit: 2366- 81G) with Pentium-M 1.8 Mhz.

Why the clock for Windows is 1200 mhz (I think 12x100 but how don't remember ) and not 1800?
The Software Evereset (www.lavalys.com) view the low clock.

Tomorrow, I post the screenshoot.
The Laptop is used and I don’t have the originals driver.
I have install Windows Xp with driver download from Web (site lenovo).
I do not find the application in the Control Panel for edit/increase the clock(exists?).
From Bios I have edit the configuration in maximum performance with Battery and AC
Thanks a lot :help:
Omar

Omar,

Please check the model number - there is no T30 with a 2611 type - that type is for an i1400 or i1500. But there is no 81G model for the 2611 type.

Assuming it really is a T30 and hasn't had a brain transplant the model should be 2366 or 2367.

Some chipsets won't run at full clock speed unless both battery and AC are present.

Sorry for my Error.
The correct dates are:

ThinkPad T30 2366-81G
Operating system: Windows XP Pro
Description: P4-M 1.8GHz (512KB), 512MB RAM, 40.0GB HDD, DVD-ROM, Modem(CDC), Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Li-Ion battery,

I remove the battery when I use the Notebook with Ac.
is this the problem?
I can make a test

The software NHC( (www.pbus-167.com) works well? :?:

Windows report a 1200MHz speed because the Power Manager profile Laptop/Mobile is selected, to prevent this, download NHC (which indeed will work on a T30) and select Max Performance in NHC profile.

If you just don't want to use NHC (which I find not so useful on a machine with a processor which cannot be undervolted), just select in Windows Control Panel - Power Manager, the profile Always On.

Alternatively you should go to your T30 bios and select than when running with AC - Power, Full Performance should be activated.

Good luck

The laptop without battery run with 1200 clock.
Why ? Problem of the Chipset Bios.
I have the last version the Bios.
Can I fix the clock to max performance.
With NHC is not possible.
Thanks OF

the computer will run at that speed as long as higher speed is not requested by the processes running, even when in max. performance mode.

check your energy settings in the BIOS

you dont need to. the clock will rise when more speed is required. try 999999999! in windows calculator and watch.
