T22 IRQ NOT LESS OR EQUAL

#1 Post by angspat » Sat Jan 27, 2007 5:48 am

Hallo, I need help..
Whem I start my windows 2000 Thinkpad T22 ,it show me a blu page with the advice IRQ NOT LESS OR EQUAL and a serie of number.

I can arrive to a complete start only if I go first on a temprary modality, and then I re-start.

An other problem happens during the pc working: Often I see an other blue page when I read " inizio scaricamento memoria fisica" . I can translate in english like " start unloading phisycal memory"
It is a flash of only a second, then the notebook turn off automatically.

I suspect that my fan is not working very well. I don't feel the same airflow of ever. It is possible?
thanks to all

try running pc doctor to see if you get any hardware errors.

Also try running the laptop without any usb or pcmcia devices in it (if you are currently using any).

also you could try removing the mini-pci card and see if this helps.

a fan problem could cause intermmittent crashing, but is unlikley to cause the IRQ error.

try resetting the bios to defaults as well

Alagregg, thank you very much for your suggests.

I use an 4places USB hub for collegate printer, scanner, and ADSL modem to my Thinkpad.

I tried to take off my hub and put in only a periferic , on for time.

At the moment. with printer and then with modem , the notebook start up without problem.

May be the problem stay in the hub or in the scanner..

I will proceed with my investigation, thank you and my best regards.

Try these steps:

(1) Boot to a regular windows XP cd and run the recovery console. Once you are in there type

Code: Select all

chkdsk /r
Let this finish (it takes an hour or so), see if that helps.

(2) If not then boot into safe mode and remove the video driver, reboot into regular mode and reinstall the video driver.

(3) Last resort, Press F11 during the boot to get into rescue and recovery, Save your files to a flash drive or a USB drive and restore to factory defaults.

I don't know if it's any help, but that BSOD was one I experienced on a T23, amongst a few others. Ended up switching the RAM, and that has worked, but I still get the feeling the HD connector may be a bit off. I haven't touched the drive, and don't plan on it until it dies.

Windows XP may experience a problem during startup that causes a Stop error message. Depending on the system configuration, the Stop error message may appear too briefly to record the error information. To gather important information about the Stop error message and to verify the cause, follow these steps: 1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. On the Advanced tab, click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
3. Clear the Automatically restart check box under System failure, and then click OK. The error message should remain on the screen so that you can record the error information.
Record the information and post it here so we can see what is causing the errors.

If you want to try torubleshooting it yourself you can search the Microsoft knowledge base for the stop error or look here for info - http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm
