#1 Post by roncoinc » Wed Jan 31, 2007 7:27 am

I have this t21 from out of the trash bin that is pretty rough...it has no keyboard hence no pwr button..is there a way to make a simple jumper to power it just to see if it will fire up at all before getting into it further ??

Simple jumper? Not that I know of. I haven't, nor have I heard of anyone attempting to trace the power button down to the keyboard connector on the motherboard.

There is another way to power up the laptop w/o a keyboard. You can mount it into a port replicator or docking station and use the power button on that piece of gear to turn the system on. That's fine if you have access to one. If not, I believe that there still may be one for sale here in the Marketplace. The FRU for the port replicator for the T21 is 02K8668.

Ah yes, here it is:
