T30: Possible keyboard key revival?

#1 Post by agarza » Fri Feb 09, 2007 9:29 pm

My T30 came back to me as my friend was unable to pay the amount I asked for the machine.

Anyways, typing on it right now, the 4 and A keys are hard to be typed on the screen: I need to press very hard the 4 key so that the number gets typed on the screen. the A key is very similar.

I was wondering if there's a possibility to revive those keys without having to buy a need keyboard.

Also, if this is not possible, I'm offering a used Thai keyboard for a T4x series laptop in exchange for a T30 keyboard.

I'd say pop the keycap off and see if there is something underneath it that is keeping the key from being pressed down.

Or set the T30 up on its side, and use a can of compressed air to spray around the keys.

Note: The reason that I suggest turning the T30 on its side, is so that you don't accidentally angle the can of compressed air wrong, and end up spraying the frozen liquid.

It kinda worked. After 5 years of continuous use is normal the keys start having this behaviour.

Thanks for your replies
