T23 error messages

#1 Post by tony6264 » Thu Feb 15, 2007 5:05 pm

I am trying to work a deal out for a T23, but there are some error messages coming up most of the time on boot up, they are:
0187 EAIA data error......and
0195 Security hadrware tamper detected

what are these errors and are they fatal errors?

Generally the EAIA error is due to a problem with the system accessing one of the memory chips on the motherboard.

The Security hardware error normally indicates tampering with the "secure chip" has been detected. That is supposed to be cured by going into the BIOS and performing a reset:

Numeric error codes

It could also be a problem with the secure chip and/or the motherboard. In short, I would not expect too much from the system. Either or both errors can mean that the motherboard is (or will soon be) defective.

P.S. If this concerns a system associated with "16309", then I've seen it too.
