ATA - 6 Interface

Hya

Anyone know if an ATA - 6 interface HDD will work with my old Thinkpad T21? I'm geussin' it may as current HDD listed as ATA/IDE.

The answer to your question is yes, it will work.

But it will only run at the T21 speed (UDMA 33) instead of the maximum ATA-6 speed.

I recently installed this ATA-6 drive in my T21 and it works fine.

I used Acronis Migrate Easy ver 7.0 to clone the existing drive. It took less than an hour. I installed the new drive in an external enclosure and conected it via the USB port. Quick and simple, it just worked!
