multiplier problem
multiplier problem
Hey all,
this is my first post on the forum.
As we know the pentium 4 mobile processor can adjust speed according to load. My thinkpad has a 1.8GHz P4-M. Minimum multiplier is 12, maximum is 18.
The problem is my processors speed stays at 12 * 100 = 1200 MHz.
It wont go any higher. I've adjusted the powerscheme. I tried speedswitchXP to detect the max frequenciy and it says max = 1200. But in the bios it says its a 1.8GHz. Everest Home edition and CPU-Z also detect a p4-m 1.8.
I used the program NHC to manually set the multiplier to 18 but i couldnt select any multiplier.
In the Bios i set everything to max performance. But it still isnt working. Could it be something is busted with the motherboard or something?
thx in advance

Normally you only get full power with both a full battery AND on AC-power. You'd also need to set the power-settings at 'maximum performance when on AC'.

AFAIK you do need a good, full battery as well.
Also check the settings in your BIOS, maybe it's throttled there?
