i bought my thinkpad t23 refurb just about a month ago, with a 3 month return to base warranty. It was supposedly a 'professionally refurbished' machine, already had a problem that the power supply had two cable ties and a piece of electric tape holding it together, although they sent me another one. For some reason there's stickers on some of the keys on the keyboard but not on others...there's also a small problem with the screen. There's one stuck pixel (red) in the middle of the screen, about an inch down from the top. The other problem is in the bottom right hand corner it is slightly darkened, although you can still see the colour behind it and it all moves fine when you move the cursor around there etc.. Another thing that I've noticed is the screen on this thinkpad is rather dim compared to other people's laptops and it's virtually unusable in sunlight.
My question is, should these problems be fixed by the people that resold the laptop to me under the return to base warranty?
This is all I can find on their site (and it's on the product page), and I haven't re-typed it out, it's a straight copy-and-paste! They obviously aren't very good at typing etc.!:
obviously I expect some wear and tear to the keyboard, and have already replaced the trackstick/point (whatever you want to call it!). Just the screen is something different, if it were to go in a year or so - does anyone know where abouts I could get a replacement screen to fit to it?Warranty: 3 Month

Something I find fairly weird, is on the bottom of the thinkpad it tells me it's a 2647-4MG although if you fire up Thinkpad Config. and look in the system info. it tells me that it's a 2647-4MU. I know that itfactory added an extra 128mb ram to bump it up to 256mb if that's what this difference is? They also claimed to have upgraded the hard drive, but I know this isn't the case as it almost certainly wouldn't be an original IBM/Hitachi Deskstar (think that's the name!) in there...
So...should this stuff be replaced on the warranty? (The screen!)
Thanks!
Alex
