T30 W-Lan Problem / Please Help

#1 Post by ingope » Mon Apr 02, 2007 4:42 pm

Hello,

first of all let´s say Hello, I am pretty new in here, proud to be a member oft his Forum !

If it´s ok I like to ask you something about my T30 TP.

If bought this TP about 1,5 y ago with 1,9 GHZ, 512 MB Ram, DVD/CD RW Writer etc.
As I get it Win XP was installed on the TP. Everything worked fine, no probs at all.
Now after about 1,5 y i decide to install Windows completly new b/c my TP starts a bit slow, every program need some time to start etc.
Btw. also W-Wlan worked very fine.

So now after I reinstalled Windows XP Prof. SP2 everything is still ok but W-Lan won´t work anymore.
All drivers i try´d said that there´s no hardware to install.

Windows told there´s a unknown Hardware w/o driver.

Can anyone help me please?

I´ve heared about the 1802 Problem. Normally I should have it w/ this card?
It´s an 54 mbit card as far as I know.
But w/ the built in card my TP works fine (I dont get an 1802 error)

This is my W-Lan Card:

I try´d everything to get this card running.

If it help´s, here are two pics of the Card.

Picture 2

Thanks in advance.

Do you get the 1802 error? If not, then try this driver, if you haven't yet.

IBM TP T41p (1.7G/1GB/100GB-7k100/DVD-CDRW/SXGA+/BT)
IBM TP T22 (900/512/40/DVD/CDRW/14")
IBM TP A31 (1.8GHz/512MB/40GB/DVD-CDRW/15" SXGA)
For sale: n/a
WTB: n/a

Hello, welcome to the forum! Not sure if this will help, but have you tried taking out the card, and then booting windows, then powering down - put in the card and boot windows; to see if it will find the card again?

EDIT: I know you said you did not get the 1802 error code, but this article is sort of interesing, not sure if it will address your problem though. LINK

Hey Purcy,

thanks a lot, (also for the welcome :-) )yes a already do so.
Windows told "Networkcontroller" found but unknown manufacturer.
If I use the Intel Netowork ID Tool it says there´s no W-Lan hardware.

I am really confused :-)

Another Idea?

Maybe you should apply the 1802 patch anyway, on the off-chance that it may work afterwards.

Problem solved.

I bought a new Card(different one - Cisco), now it works :-)
I still think the old Card is ok, but i dont like to waste my time w/ this card again :)
If someone needs this card, let me know, it costs about.... hm... $0
:-)

thanks and best regards
