T30 Battery Life

#1 Post by ronbo613 » Thu Apr 12, 2007 10:00 am

After having some battery replacement issues, I received a battery directly from Lenovo for the T30 and cycled it a few times running NOD32 scans until the battery was completely drained, then fully charging it again.
With this fully charged battery and NOD32 running the In Depth Analysis, the new Lenovo battery would run the T30 for about one hour, give or take a minute or two.
The NOD32 scan is a fairly good workout for the computer, but I thought a 4400mAh battery would run a little longer than an hour.

Have you tried measuring the new batt life under normal usage conditions? I owned a T30 and the battery life sucked. After all those P4M were never real good battery optimizers processors

Running a system scanner like NOD32 is going to use a little more juice than cruising the internet, but not as much as editing photos or defragging the hard drive. It's a pretty "even" way to run the computer to cycle the battery or do a comparison test.
I figured the way this T30 is configured it will use a bit of power, but I was hoping for a little more than an hour. I read somewhere that the original batteries for the T30 were 2200mAh? That would be hardly worth having a laptop.
