Flush USB 2.0 PCMCIA card?
Flush USB 2.0 PCMCIA card?
Does anyone know of a PCMCIA card offering flush mounted USB 2.0 ports? For example, I used to have a Xircom PCMCIA LAN/modem combo card for my old Thinkpad 600e to add the necessary data ports without a ridiculous bulge on the side of the machine. I'd prefer a similar solution for USB 2.0 on my T30.
take a look at my post here...this one has a modular usb connector

i agree with ya both... i have looked for them in the past and this was as close as i ever came to finding a flush mount one
...it would be nice, you would think that by now they would all be flush mount...a flushmout 5.1 sound card and a flushmount multi-card reader would be great!

Sure: The IBM ThinkPad USB 2.0 CardBus Adapter, FRU 32P5080. It's a standard size PCMCIA card with no bulges. It's also thin enough to leave the other slot usable. It comes with a "dongle" cable that plugs into the card and has 2 USB connectors on the other end. They are a bit pricey -- almost $50 on eBay a few years back.

There's another post of someone who modified thier USB 2.0 to make it flush here: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=41792 He said that he lost power to it though, and it's not as powerful as a stock card. Get in touch with them and you might be able to get one made? ':??:'
