Screen switch

#1 Post by truk » Sun May 20, 2007 8:45 pm

I now have two Thinkpad T30 bases, and only my good one has an LCD. My LCD is getting rather dim (other people have trouble reading it on full brightness.) I'm planning on moving this screen back to it's original motherboard and getting a new one for my good T30. Can I put an SXGA+ screen into my T30, and what would be the advantages of this?

Thanks,
Truk

Yes you can put SXGA+ in, but make sure you get the matching LCD-cable! Check and double-check the part-number if you order from eBay.
The (obvious to some) advantage is the higher resolution (1400x1050 instead of XGA's 1024x768).
But that's subjective, as I find anything over XGA hard on (my) eyes.

Sweet, thanks. I knew I'd be getting a few extra pixels, but it was a matter of how many. I think I'll probably get one if I can find one for cheap.
