Display problems with T23

#1 Post by Msmax » Sun Jun 17, 2007 4:28 am

I bought myself a T23 notebook base from Ebay. It was advertised as working but without LCD parts. It works fine if connected to an external monitor, so the ad was coorrect so far.

If a LCD panel is connected then it lits up white, no picture shown. Already tried a second set of cable/LCD with same results.

Now I'm looking for the datasheet of the Super Savage /IXC chip.
I like to know if it has sepearate outputs for the lines to the VGA connector and LCD connector or is it an external analogue switch which does the trick.

So, if someone has the datasheet then please share with me. Still searching on Google...

EDIT:
As far I can see the LCD is driven directly from the video chip.
Guess the mainboard needs to be replaced then, probably the video chip is not 100% ok.

Thanks, Msmax

Are you sure that the LCDs/Cables match the base? There were several different resolutions available for T23, maybe the cable/LCDs are of a lower or higher resolution.

What are the part numbers for the system board, cables and LCDs.

The combination of LCD & cable is OK for 100%. Tested on an other machine.

LCD cable P/N 27L0639 FRU 27L0640
System board: FRU 26P8218

Seems the system board has been exchanged already. It has an orange label "SERVICEABLE USED PART".

Thanks for your reply, Msmax
