Static When Playing Sound
Whenever I play sound or video files on my T22 periodically I get static noise. It happens in the speakers and when using headphones. It seems to be random. The video and sound files are OK. I tried different media players and still get static.
However, when I play an Audio CD, there is no static at all, and it works fine.
Could some sort of software settings be causing this? Like disabling the indexing service?

RE:static
This is a very strange problem. It is VERY unlikely to be software, but where is plays audio CDs it almost has to be. I would first and foremost reinstall the sound driver. Does the static change if you wiggle the headphone jack, and is the sound okay coming from the speakers? I had a loose port in one if my t30 mobos and it had static, but it stayed when there was an audio CD playing.

I have reformatted several times in the past week. After a fresh re-format everything is okay, the sound plays fine. However, once I load all my software on the PC, shut down, and a day later turn on the problem is back.
The static comes from both the speakers, and the headphones, whichever one I'm using.
Also, music CDs always play fine with no static.

yea, with a desktop system, its PCI clocks, in laptops its power management...
a lot of people overlook it, but all hardware in a laptop is very minimal in terms of power consumption, so when theres a problem, its sometimes quite easy to find it.
