hi i have just got an ibm thinkpad t21
the problem i have got is the screen has a border all the way round the screen it is a black border when i move the mouse pointer it will go to the end of the border and not behind it so i think the screen size setup is wrong.
i dont have any cd or or sofware for the laptop someone has told me that the bios setup needs to be changed if this is the case can anyone advise me on how to change the setting for the screen size so as i can have the full screen.
many thanks in advance
regards chris

Welcome to the Forum.
Below is a link to my particular T23.
Click on it, then change the relevant (Product) info to your own model/type (on the bottom of the laptop).
It'll show you all the drivers/manuals etc. for your own machine.
Make sure to download the Hardware Maintenance Manual.

Have you checked the resolution that the screen is currently set up at via right clicking on the desktop >> Properties >> Settings tab? I know that if it's set at 800 x 600 on my T23 there's a small border (only a few millimetres) around the edge of my screen.

Go into the BIOS by pressing F1, after turning on the T21. This will take you to the main screen in the BIOS Setup. "Config" should be highlighted white, press enter. Arrow down to "Display" and press enter. Now, arrow down to "HV Expansion", and see if it says "[On]". If it says "[Off]", then press enter, and arrow down to highlight "On" in white, and press enter. Now, press F10 to save and exit, and then enter to "Save configuration changes and exit now".
