T30 - Question about LAN port.

#1 Post by giacobidis » Tue Jul 24, 2007 6:44 am

When I plug the LAN cable on my T30 there is no response and its lights aren't blinking. On my desktop box that cable works fine.
In the device manager, there are no hardware problems reported and the LAN driver reports it is working correctly.
What could be the trouble? Is it something from the parameters of the driver? A dead port? Can it be replaced?

Run PC Doctor 5 tests on the network card/cable connection. What are the results?

Look very closely at the female lan connector on the back of the T30, to make sure that the connector pins aren't bent out of place. I had this happen on a modem port on a 600E, from someone trying to shove in the connector upside down.

After running all communication tests of PC Doctor 2.0, after the next reboot, the LAN port lights started blinking and Win XP Pro had automatically configured the network settings for that connection.
How is this possible?
